A family house in Ibiza, drawn around the stone it sits on
A six-bedroom private house on the Spanish island of Ibiza, designed as a calm, low building for a family that wanted somewhere to slow down. The brief was for generous shared living spaces, six bedrooms across family and guests, and a house that felt rooted to its site — not a holiday villa imported from somewhere else.
The plan is organised around an open living, dining and kitchen volume at the heart of the house, with bedrooms held quietly to either side. The room is anchored by two raw stone monoliths drawn from the island itself — left standing as the house was built around them, part wall, part sculpture. Their weight sets the mood: everything else in the room is softer, lower and warmer. Curved cream upholstery, a single stone coffee table, timber-slatted ceilings, full-height linen curtains. The floor is polished local stone. The room is built to be sat in for hours.
